Where is this dress from in Germany
« on: Monday 02 February 15 18:30 GMT (UK) »
My grandparents and mother made a trip to Germany about 1930. While there they visited with reletives of the family Whittmann. I guess , from my mothers description that it was in central Germany somewhere. Grandma put on a local area dress, as shown in the photo. Can anyone help with a city/location where tis dress was from?

Not quite sure, but it could be from Lower Franconia/Bavaria.   I have googled "Trachten" which is the German name for such clothes and found something similar.

If you google Lower Franconia yourself, you can see which towns are in the area.  Maybe something will come
to mind that your mother/granmother mentioned.

Thanks for your reply. The trachten really do look alike.
