They would not be Methodists in the 1500's.

Could you give some names (who was born in the 1500's), and where you have looked for information?

Thank-you

Parish Registers for Quethiock date from 1574?!

Any further information would require a search of Cornwall Archives for legal documents, manorial rolls, and the like.
I don't think any of that will be online?

Hmmm...Thank you very much for the info..
I have read through the Cornwall history that information on births etc previous to the 1500s would be very difficult, due to alot of information being destroyed and or lost in fire. Will do my best and keep taping away, through what Cornwall records I can get to.
Thank you very very much for the info. :)

Thank you once again for your advise and info.....
Please can you tell me why they would not have been "Methodist" in the 1500s.?It was not yet formed back then..?
Some of the Doney,s Born in the 1500s that are connected to my line as follows.:
Thomas Done(Dony) (b)..1518 Treuest Cornwall.(d)..28 3 1591..Quethiock Cornwall.
Married:Margaret Doney(Dony)..No proof of b..d..
2 Children showing...Thomas Doney(Dony) (b)..30 6 1538..Treuest Cornwall.(d)..1611 Quethiock Cornwall. Married:Emma Doney(Dony)..(b)..1535..Treuset Cornwall.(d)..26 12 1616. Quethiock Cornwall.
5 Children:Thomas 1558..1638:..Mary.1559.No further info:...William 1560..1638:...Margretia..1560..No further info...Richard 1595..1625.
I have there spouses and children etc...
Then the tree continues on down to present time.
Some of the information and evidence I have collected from "Jean Ashfeilds" tree as she is also a link to my line. She has done massive research but again stops at the 1530s.....
I have also searched the B.D.M and military info...census...other trees...And Cornwall Data.
Hope that is of some help.
Thanking you again.

Methodism was begun with John Wesley (1703-1791) and his brother Charles (1707-1788).

The movement they founded only split from the Church of England after John Wesley's death in 1791.

Hi there,

I have come across a Richard Doney living in St German's whilst looking up the Congdon family in Cornwall. He was a servant to them.

I actually have a Charlotte Downey in my family. He was married to Charlotte Collings and was from Fowey. He was a seaman. I cannot find anything more about him which is annoying!
