track down family of DULWICH warhero F/O Robert George NYE
« on: Saturday 07 February 15 14:43 GMT (UK) »
I would like to know more about F/O Robert George NYE. He was the Son of Lewis and Violet NYE, of Dulwich, London. Robert George Nye was 23 years old when he lost his life as a Lancaster pilot on the 3rd February 1945 over Westerbeek, The Netherlands.  Years ago the community erected a memorial in Westerbeek in memory of F/O Nye and his crew with the attendance of relatives of almost all the crewmembers except the relatives of Robert George Nye. Hopefully there is some one who can help me with track down his relatives to share what we have collected about the crash and also other relatives would be eager to get in touch with Nye's relatives. I know very well about the regulations about living relatives but if some one can help me with an address please PM me.

Many Thanks,
Adrian

Have you done the obvious as in finding Lewis and Violets marriage (to get her maiden name) and then looking for other Nye children with that mothers maiden name? In order to ascertain if Robert had any siblings.
Then look for marriages/deaths/wills for any of those siblings (if there were any)

Sorry I don't know anything about Camberwell newspapers, but I expect a "google" will give you some ideas.

I was just following basic family history research!. There are still two other siblings of Robert to research, I have only got as far as establishing they didn't die as babies. Will see what else I can find.
