I recall the Crocketts had a daughter Fanny.

Just checked she has been transcribed as Crockett but it should be Ray!

1871 1408 / 103 /  9

There is also a child Fanny C Ray aged 1 - I wonder if that is the Elizabeth Ray aged 11 yrs in 1881.

This is likely to be 'Fanny C' as 1871 and Elizabeth as 1881.

This is a possible candidate for Fanny Ray

1881 534/73/ 40

Fanny Ray 28 yrs born Longdown, Bucks
She states she is unmarried and is a Cook at the vicarage, St Matthews, Newington.

In 1861, the Crocketts are living at Longdowns Farm.

There is a marriage 1890, Camberwell
Fanny Ray and Harry Smith are on the same page.

You can see this couple in following censuses- he is Henry. They are living in Aylesbury, Bucks.
This Fanny looks quite likely to be Fanny Crockett/ Ray.

I know it doesn't help your initial query but it may help you with your tree.

Certificates are really essential to check you have the right people. If you think that Fanny is the right person, the marriage details to John Ray may help trace him.

I see that Annie was married in Aylesbury.
