Wood family in Guernsey
« on: Friday 13 February 15 08:09 GMT (UK) »
I have a Thomas Wood born 1844 in Pirbrick Surrey who first appears in 1871 aged 27 working as a servant /nurseryman for Charles Smith also a nurseryman and his wife Eliza in St Peter Port Guernsey. He maybe marries around 1872 to Elizabeth Smith born 1847 in  Morcombelake Dorset as their first child George Harry is born 31 may 1873 in St Peter Port. But cannot find their marriage. I can only presume they married on the island. They are there as a growing family in all the following census, 1881,1891,1901 and 1911. George Harry 1873,Annie Eliza 1875,Henry Charles 1879,John 1882,Lilian 1884, Clifford C 1886. Now in the 1911 census Thomas has revealed they had been married 38 years had 9 children in total ..4 had died and 5 were still alive . I know John and Henry Charles immigrated to New Zealand . Can anyone help with births and deaths and a marriage please. Thank you Virginia
