I keep on finding references to Brill in Buckinghamshire.

So this might be the wrong village:

If it is the correct place, there are various contact addresses.

Is it also possible that the other place mentioned Ipstone is Ibstone, also Buckinghamshire.
There are references to both places on GENUKI.

There are a number of burials on-line for the names you mention, perhaps you could list some dates and members might be able to help.

You don't give any dates and so it is difficult to be specific.  Our Saunders ancestors came from Tetsworth in the 18th century but by the early 19th century were living in Thame in Oxfordshire.  In the middle of the 19th a branch of the family were living in Brill and some of the children from other branches were also born there. Can you post details of your earliest Saunders ancestor.

Ibstone, as suggested, is modern rendering of Ipstone. Both the same place. With Brill, both on border with Oxon.

Lots of Saunders in Berkshire (now Oxon), Oxon and North Wiltshire.

Your interest sounds like one branch. Any chance of more names, places and dates. I am a Saunders through my grandmother.

Graham

My direct family are the Saunders from Brill in Buckinghamshire.

My grandparents:  James and Kate (nee Newman) Saunders
My great grandparents:  James and Alice (nee Newton) Saunders
My great great grandparents:  James and Keziah (nee Tooley) Saunders
My great great grandparents:  These people I am not sure of as yet.

James (great great grandparents) and his brothers were Edwin (of Coookham, Maidenhead), and James, Arthur, William, Walter, and Alice, George, Susan, Albert and Caroline.

The brothers all were all Gothic ironworkers and move the foundry to Brighton, then called the Black Rock Iron Foundry, and made many pieces for some of the well known buildings there.

James (great gradnparents) and family all live in Hanwell and Notting Hill areas.  He was the Superintendent of the Special Police for the Great Western Railway for 40 years.

If any of this relates to you, please let me know!  Thank you.
