railway signalman

my ggg grandfather Samuel hillyard was born 1826 on hi marriage line  in 1848 he was working on the railway as a porter in the mid 1800,s he was a signalman ive been trying to find for years to find what railway he worked for  then I came across him on the poor law  records and working for blackwall railways in London  how can I find out if there is any record on him and about blackwall  railway

London and Blackwall Railway

Originally called the Commercial Railway, the London and Blackwall Railway in east London, England ran from Minories to Blackwall via Stepney, with a branch line to the Isle of Dogs, connecting central London to many of London's docks. Wikipedia

It was leased to the great eastern railway in 1866, the national archives has some staff records foe the great eastern but they are not online.

Search on the NA discovery catalogue. Great AND eastern AND railway AND staff

There is a book published by Amberley Publishing in 2013 called "The London & Blackwall Railway -Through Time - Dockland's First Railway".  The author is J. Christopher.

wow thank you   im just looking on the internet to see what I can find out  52 years he worked from what I know of on the railway on his marriage lines he was a railway guard then from census he was a signalman  till he died in 1900
