When researching (especially with a name like Davies) you really need to source your research

Marriage cert or parish records would give Thomas'father's name and occupation

as would first marriage details - you are assuming his wife died -and assuming his wife died in childbirth -this may be so and may be incorrect?

Have you found a birth reg /baptism for Thomas Senghenydd Davies??

If not and you are not sure of his y.o.b. (you quoted c 1874 -when from earlier census it looks more like c.1872)

What is the year of his death reg?

Apologies for questions but only trying to help - it causes complications when we follow an incorrect family (which is quite easily done)

Hi

I did say on my original post that he was born 1872. I have the evidence now from FindMyPast & Ancestry

Thanks

Susie

Apologies - I misread it - what quarter and year was his birth registered?
I think I have found the name of Thomas'1st wife

Marriage reg Sept qtr 1899
Swansea
Names on same page
Thomas Sengenhydd Davies
Elizabeth Jane Beballick
Rachel Stephens
Thomas Arthur Evans
correct ref 11a 1415
Elizabeth Jane married Thomas Arthur Evans -so "your" Thomas would have married Rachel Stevens
