Loads of info there - thank you.  But this still doesn't explain her marriage record showing her father as Francis, army pensioner and her address as 'Sialkote', the house they named after the place they got married (Henry and Emma that is).

Have you tried looking for a will left by Francis/Henry?  That would give you a third legal document containing his first name.  And might include an AKA name.

Thanks Jann.  I do have the probate record - he is Francis.  No mention of any other name.
