James Menzies - Charlotte Montague marriage

I am trying to trace the marriage of James Menzies and Charlotte Montague, parents of Robert Menzies. Robert was born about 1824 in Kelton, Castle Douglas, but so far I've been unable anything for his parents marriage. In 1844 Robert married Janet Bain in Penicuik, but between 1824 and 1844 I have no idea where he was. His father was an ag lab, so I suspect may have worked in a number of different places and may not have been from Castle Douglas, or married in Castle Douglas. I can find a few references to James Menzies, but none for Charlotte Montague. I'm fairly sure the name is right because it came from Robert's marriage certificate (second marriage, 1888). If I can pin down where/when they were married I may be able to locate any siblings he had.

Hello ev and thank you.... no I absolutely hadn't considered it, I thought I'd tried most spellings for Menzies and Montague but Monzies is a new one on me so I hadn't seen this. AND they're in Kelton. Will look into this a bit further, thanks so much for your prompt reply.

You're a star - from Menzies to Monies to Meunies?? All the different McMingies/Mensies/etc I've tried and here are two totally new ones  Nicholas is a new bit of info - it would be interesting to find a sibling for Robert. Thanks so much
