Children of Alexander Beck and Joan Prudence Picton-Warlow

A very tall ask i fear which is compounded because I don't know where to post this query but am choosing Herefordshire because this is where the couple married in Sept 1930.

Alexander Beck was born in 1898 in Argentina.  His father seemed to own a ranch in Argentina but travelled between England and Argentina.  Alexander was in the 60th Squadron RAF and after the war married Joan Prudence Picton-Warlow and took up ranching in Argentina as well.

He and Joan travelled between UK and Argentina.

I am unable to locate any births for the couple through FreeBDM but wondered if anyone else may have some better luck with determining if the couple had children.

I feel relatively confident that the couple did have children as I have seen a post on another forum that said Joan was a great grandparent so my fingers crossed...

Hi cannot locate any children, but their is a further voyage of Alexander & Joan 24th December 1959 to Las Palmas, Canary Isles on SS Edinburgh Castle, Alexander b 3rd November 1898 and Joan b 4th July 1907

Well that's a major source of embarrassment....

I just knew I should have gone to bed hours ago!!! Nonetheless thanks so much milliepede.

Does anyone have access to any newspapers that may have a birth notice enclosed???  Whilst this may not mean much I did try my FindMyPast sub without results???

There is also a Mombasa-London journey for the couple (couple only, same birth details as per KB86) on board MV Warwick Castle 14/3/58

They gave their address as Heyford Mills NORTHAMPTON (He a Farmer).


You mentioned posting this thread in the Herefordshire board, but this board is HERTFORDSHIRE.
Should you actually be getting a moderator to move it to Northamptonshire?

Joan is in several trees on ancestry.

Prize Herefordshire cattle were exported to argentine to improve the quality of beef, I believe this was still the case in the 1930's, might explain the herefordshire connection
