Johnny Howes Peacehaven, Sussex.
« on: Sunday 22 February 15 09:26 GMT (UK) »
Johnny Howes who gave his wartime address as Peacehaven, Sussex was a crew member of 57 Squadron's Wellington Z8985 that was lost 7/8 November 1941 on a “Rover Patrol” in the Munster area.

Johnny Howes and my father Walter Layne were prisoners of war together at Stalag Luft VI and Stalag 357.

In my father's POW "Wartime Log" there are 50 prisoners named, https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/pow-log/

I am attempting to find a wartime photograph of each individual.  So far of the 50 prisoners I have found photographs of 23 and am hopeful that through this site I might find a wartime photograph and have more information on Johnny Howes, my efforts so far can be seen here.  https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/other-pows/

This is a cartoon drawn by Howes in my father's POW log book.

Regards, David Layne.
