HUXTABLE (Family Tree Help)
« on: Sunday 22 February 15 13:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I'm currently researching a Huxtable line of my family tree, I have been able to reach my 15th great grandfather, John Huxtable, who was born in Charles, Devon in 1490. He had at least one son, named John Huxtable who was born in 1520.

If anyone has any more information about this line I would greatly appreciate it, as I appear to have hit a brick wall.

Many thanks,
George Fry

On the contrary. Much of that was appropriated from other online sources. I need all the help I can get!

Welcome to Rootschat.

I'm afraid as soon as you said that alarm bells start ringing. I hope that you have checked and double checked all the sources if you have taken them from other people's trees. There are numerous posts on here about how inaccurate a lot of trees are, quite a few people just add names without doing any research. Then someone else copies their tree and the mistake is just carried on. The further back you get, the more chances there are for inaccuracies. I don't want to sound negative, as hopefully your tree is correct.

Hi,
I've been able to verify the information of my line back, including information from research at Reading University.

Ah, that's great! Thomas is my fourth great uncle. How far have you managed to go back?

No further than Thomas!
I have 4 issue for Thomas and Elizabeth.

The family are such a distant twig, I have not invested in the branch. The linkage goes back through Elizabeth maternal lineage.

and a second branch:

Charles George P Huxtable (born circa 1862) married Elizabeth Avery Abbott 1899 South Molton RD with 2 issue. CGP Huxtable =  husband of niece of husband of 2nd great grand aunt

They are my total 8 Huxtables I have in my tree.

Hi

The same John Huxtable was my 12th great grandfather and I to have ground to a halt.  The only other info I have on him is that he also had a son William but dates are unknown.

I've spend the last week on holiday in Devon and got loads of information to go through but nothing that can get me any further back.
