Lawrence William Sadezky, Aldenham, Elstree, Herts

 Lawrence William Sadezky who gave his wartime address as Aldenham, Elstree, Herts.  was an RAF Sergeant Air Gunner with 83 Squadron crewing Hampden AE319 that was shot down 6 September 1941 mine laying in Oslo harbour. 

In Stalag Luft VI and Stalag 357 Sadezky along with my father Walter Layne and 5 other NCO s from their mess formed a combine for self preservation.  They pooled all of their resources as a group.  They would barter and scavenge for food and fuel and share the cooking responsibilities.
