Hi Stephen,

Have got more detailed info on this couple?  I can't see them anywhere in Wilts at the moment.

On the IGI (FamilySearch) Susannah Finch Richards is  shown as being baptised to John & Sarah on10-1-1813 in Horsledown, Surrey.

Agree with Alan.  Susannah Finch Richards appears to have been born in Horselydown,Southwark,in 1813 to John And Sarah.  The family also appear to have been Quaker.

Hi Stephen,

As yet,no,and it may be difficult as John and Sarah were quakers.  The Birth Date given for Susannah is not the day she was born but the day she was accepted into the quaker group at a quarterly meeting(QM).  Quakers don't practise water baptism like Christians.  Many quaker records were kept very privately due to previous persecution of non-conformists.  They also have no paid vicars or priests.  I know little about them (they are known as the Society of Friends) but I believe you may be able to check with the Library of the Society of Friends in Britain's website at www.quaker.org.uk/library in the Euston Road, London. They have the London and Middlesex BMDs but you would have to employ a genealogist if you can't get there yourself as they do not carry out research requests.

I'll keep looking.

Regards,

Linda
