he he!

I have also found the marriage announcement in The Glasgow Herald, Monday 12th April 1920, page 1, col1
http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19200412&printsec=frontpage&hl=en

http://news.google.com/newspapers  isn't searchable by text, but 'is' browsable by date, its a pretty random collection from all over the world, but it does come in handy now and then and its my favourite price too !

Hello Carol ( and lovely cat ) and you too Boo

Nice to be in contact again - and at last I have cracked the correct way to work Rootschat.

1. You Stop hitting Head on brick wall.

2. You put on your request.

3. You Stop rabbitting ( with my fuzzy logic ).

4. Spend the day in the Doctors - come back.

5. ALL IS DONE.

Great thanks to you all (that very much includes you Michael)

Had bashed myself to a standstill on this one, as my Friend Westoe will vouch.

Tomorrow will go through all and see where we go from there.

Thanks very much for the speed and efficientcy - speed I ain't got and efficiency I can't SPELL.

Best

Might have a husband for young Jessie, by the name of Robert FRANK Fletcher b. 1896, they married in third quarter 1945 10a 3335.

Also their son ? ALAN.W.Fletcher b. 2nd Quarter of 1947, but in West Hartlepool ? ( why not! I have been there in the distant past, I liked both place and people ) 1a p 1953.

All I can put into the pot today.

However as John Purdy, Hydrographer said in 1821 :-

" The Communications of Intelligent Seamen, & co, for the future Improvement of this Work,

                                    are Respectfully Solicited"[/i

Think this could be as much as I could ask for on this post, as not actually being in the U.K., the chances of finding Alan K Fletcher and get further info, e.g. " what did Grandfather do in WWI " would be like finding a needle in a Hartlepool Haystack.

So will take this info back to my ' Tammy married her daughter off Ellington' post on the Durham forum, and so fill in more gaps, happy with the Knowledge that Louisa's Duncan did live to a good age, but sorry that our paths never crossed.

Again thanks for your great help.

Keep Happy

If Frank was born 1896 then he would have been at least 25 years older than Jessie. Its possible but without some sort of confirmation and given the fact that his first name was Robert, I'd have that down as 'possible but needs a lot of checking out'

I'll try to look later to see if I can find an alternate :-)

ooh I think I may have got it, very likely but not writ in stone (is it ever?).

Free BMD
Marriages Q2 1959 Newcastle

Jessie T WILSON married Frank ROGERS

Its a possible :-)

Free BMD
Births Q2 1925 Newcastle
Jessie T WILSON, mother's maiden name WILSON

Increases the possibility and its the right time frame, place and mother's maiden name

Deaths March 1981 Jessie Tilman ROGERS, born 1925

Edging towards really likely :-) Tilman was her Granny's maiden name, yes?

Births Q2 1962, Northumberland South

Allan J ROGERS, mother's maiden name WILSON

now in the 'very likely' category I think

Northumberland South for the birth could mean very close to Newcastle, maybe they moved or maybe that was where the maternity home of choice was.

Worth thinking about anyway.

From https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

WILSON Duncan of 46 Ladywell Wy Ponteland Newcastle upon Tyne died 28 February 1977 Administration Newcastle upon Tyne 15 June £8112 772204313J

and now the icing on the cake :-)
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

ROGERS Jessie Tilman  of 46 Ladywell Way Ponteland Newcastle upon Tyne died 16 February 1981. Probate Newcastle upon Tyne 23 March  £45597  812202348Q

Same address as her Dad, so now even Boo reckons its all "very highly likely" :-)

She did leave a will, which may give you an address for her son Allan, or may not, you never know with these things and it does cost £10 so that's quite a lot to pay.

Sure you are correct Boo, and if I had the 45K ( what did Mr Rogers do  I wonder,) I could afford the £10 !

Take it that Duncan's son Alan and his sad history are correct ?

Having spent all morning on a semi conclusion write up - glad you came just in time, with correct info !!
