Sarah Horton Born Around 1844

Hi,

I'm trying to locate the correct volume and page reference for my x3 Great Grandmother Sarah Horton born about 1844 according to census data.

She Had 3 Other younger sisters Elizabeth (b1846), Ann(b1852) & Mary (b1858) Born in Rowley Regis to a Joseph Horton & Hannah Horton (nee Poole.)

I've ordered the certificate listed on FREEBMD as

Births Mar 1844
HORTON    Sarah        Dudley   Vol 18   Page370

But it lists the wrong mother. (Sylvia Horton Formerly Downes)

I know Joseph and Hannah Married in St. John the Baptist, Halesowen in 1842. So I've been thinking maybe Sarah was born before they moved to Rowley as I'm not familiar with the area or boundaries for the time period which location would be a good guess for the area of Halesowen. ?

Where exactly does she put as her birthplace on all the census entries you have for her?

from 1851 - 1911 lists it as either Stafford Rowley or Rowley Regis, Staffordshire.

Yes you certainly picked the most likely one. 

The only other Dudley is Sarah Ann in Jun 1845 but yours is always Sarah it seems 

Any baptism record for her to indicate an address?

Looks like Halesowen would come under Stourbridge.

I wonder if it is under Dudley but the name spelt a bit wrong or something.

She's always listed as Sarah in all the census data

Might be worth a try might have it down as haughton or something.

Unless the one with sylvia as a mother is right but i again can't find any reference to a sylvia downes and joseph Horton.

Later census have her born a little earlier 1842 I wonder if she was born just before the marriage and is under mothers name?

Is Hannah surname Waldron? **

There is a Sarah Waldron born Sep 1844 Stourbridge but again that was after
the marriage so no need for her to be registered under that name 

** sorry you said Hannah was Poole but I can't see that marriage in 1842

There are 2 Sarah Poole births in Mar 1841 Dudley but maybe too early. 

Can we confirm the Joseph/Hannah marriage?
