Son of Alan Fox Steele marriage
« on: Tuesday 24 February 15 20:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I was looking over a tree on ancestry in which my ancestors are on there. Alan Fox Steele, born in Cumberland in 1922 and died in Middlesbrough, Cleveland in 2002. His wife Annie Higginbotham is on there too, having died in 1953 aged 30.

He had a son, whom I cannot name due to privacy reasons due to him still being alive, but it clearly shows he had two sons and married twice.

I would like to find his son's marriage so I can learn the identity of his two sons. I have contacted the owner of the tree, but there hasn't been a reply in a week and it states he hasn't been online for 8 months, meaning he may not be using ancestry anymore.

His second wife Blanche Irving, whom died in 2004 in Cleveland is on there, meaning the family moved there later in life. Does that mean his son moved there too?

any help would be appreciated, my thanks  :)

There are 5 tree's - one was logged on last week, another last month - maybe try those  ???
One tree suggest a son and a daughter to first wife and a daughter to the second.
Have you checked BMD records ?

The one with the daughter and son to the first wife and the daughter to a second wife is probably the one I am looking at.

The other trees do not mention any grandchildren for Alan Fox Steele.

No marriages for Cleveland.

Could I privately message you the name of the son in question?

Not asking much are you - children and grand-children - all living people   ???

I can see the name of the son in the subject line.  If he is still living (and hopefully he is) you cannot name living people  ???

It looks as if Alan Steele was still in Cumberland in September 1957  (1a 243) when he re-married

Steele is such a common name - you don't know where he lived -  have you checked BMD records for marriages - there were 2 in Cumberland - one Cockermouth and one Wigton - both had middle initials - your mans birth doesn't show a middle initial -
Perhaps if you contact all the tree's - someone may be related further up the line and be able to answer your question  ???
Meanwhile - you need to remove his name from the subject line.

Would purchasing the death certificates of Blanche and Alan give any information on where he is? Perhaps he was an informant, they usually give the address of the informant

I have altered the title

But it could have been the daughter from second marriage who registered the death  ???  There is a possibility she might have married in East Cleveland 1981 -  ???

I have altered the title

I think you may need to ask the mods to do something as it is still showing on all of the replies.
