John & Jane Wright
« on: Thursday 26 February 15 12:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Looking for help to find John & Jane Wright I think they were married in Wakefield, Yorkshire 1846. John born c1827 and Jane c1826. They migrated to Australia on the Fatima 1850 and Jane gave birth onboard to her first son (I believe) Richardson John Wright.
Thats all I've been able to find out I'm in Australia and John & Jane are my x5 great grandparents any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Diana

There is a published tree which seems to indicate that Jane's whole family emigrated, possibly on the Stag in 1850.
George and Mary died in Goolwa SA. Does that fit?

George's wife- Mary Ann Crooks

Hi
I never knew much before they came to Australia (may have found their parents now thanks to Heywood) They lived in Norwood, and Stirling as far as I've found out .. That marriage of Abraham and Mary Richardson would explain how the first son got his name..

I am also a descendant of George and Mary Wright and John and Jane Wright. My great grandfather Richardson John Wright was born on the Barque Fatima two weeks before it arrived in Australia. I have researched the families in Australia and although I know that both George's family and John and Jane arrived in Adelaide at the same time (on different boats) and I can follow Richardson John's tragic life I know nothing of George and his family in South Australia. Can anyone help? Also I have a death of a Jane Wright at Stirling many years after her husband, but wonder who she was then living with and if this was my relative.

Hi PMRR, We must be related then 😊 I would love to hear your stories, I have a little info on Richardson & his family as well as his parents.
