Help please
« on: Thursday 26 February 15 13:16 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace back in my tree and seem to of hit a brick wall.
Looking for parents of Patrick Collins born 1885  died 2/2/1931 and Annie Connors Born 1862  died 15/2/35.
Not sure what part of Ireland they were born but I know they lived in Enniskillen and had several children there. They moved to Fleetwood Lancashire with their children and they both died in Fleetwood Lancashire
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanking you in anticipation

There are 9 results for a Pat* Collins in Fermanagh in 1901
and
11 results in 1911 on the census returns; none the correct age

However a possibilty in 1911

Have you their marriage certificate? as this would show their father's name and residence at time of marriage

Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan

I wonder if your dates are correct.  If Patrick was born in 1885 then Annie would have been 40ish by the time she could have married him.  I had a look at some earlier time frames on:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk/

and found the birth of James Collins on 19 February 1886 and Mary on 27 June 1889.  In both cases the mother was Connors and both births were registered in Enniskillen.  There could be others.

... Looking for parents of Patrick Collins born 1885 ...

The 1901 England census suggests 1865.

No obvious sign of a marriage record on:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk/

but I have found a record for the marriage of Patrick McCallen and Anne Connors on 3 February 1883 registered in Fermanagh.  Might just be it.

Again on:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk/

the birth of Bridget McCallen on 15 March 1884, mother Connors, registered in Enniskillen.

The McCallen name may not of course be correct be there is a nice symmetry to the marriage and birth dates.
