Yes, me again... Am looking into a nurse who served with Scottish women;s hospitals during ww1 as part of the said project. Her name is Christina Auld i know she was from Stirling/Stirling shire. I found one the was working at Shoreditch in 1911 but cant seem to find out where she belonged to etc. Can anyone be of assistance?

Hi Alan

We like you enquiries  ;) Great ongoing project you have there...

The 1911 entry you have for a Christina Auld in Shoredith....any clues on age?

Monica

PS: Ok, found her on Family Search for an index in 1911. Born c. 1885 in Stirling Deny (Denny likely) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWGG-BF2

Ancestry has 1911 census image showing birthplace Denny, aged 26 and single. Nearest earlier census match in Scottish census extracts on ancestry has adopted daughter of an Isabella Auld with birth around 1883. Quick search for birth on SP restricted to Denny showed up nothing, but name registered at birth could be different if she was adopted.

I think Sandy's 1891 entry is likely her:

Isabella Auld 68 farmer
Robert Anderson 38 nephew Assistant Farmer
William Ferguson 36 newphew b. Glasgow
Christina Auld 8 adopted daughter
Mary Brown 15 servant
Thomas Kirkwood 30 lodger Ironfoundry Labourer

Address: Harecraigs, Denny

As you say, let's try and find her in 1901...
