Hi Judith,
Thanks for the reply. I personally haven't come across an ANTHONY but have alerted a friend who has researched the name (and variants) extensively in Northumberland so I await his reply.
Regards
Big Ooms

Hi Big Ooms

I am beginning to wonder if Sarah Murdie (born c1754), my 5xGtGrandmother, could have been illegitimate. Her eldest daughter is Margaret and I have found a baptism of a Margaret in Chatton in 1735, father William. Her husband William Ballentine was witness at Andrew Murdie's wedding in 1788 and Andrew at theirs, maybe Andrew was a cousin not a brother. There is also a marriage of Margaret in 1761. Does your friend have any info or suggestions re these?

Best wishes
Judith
