Henry Eltham and his wife Elizabeth baptised 7 children in Buckland, Berkshire between 1723/4 and 1742.
John Eltham and his wife Mary also baptised 7 children in Buckland between 1726 and 1748.
As both sets of parents had their children over a long period, I would assume that they married in their twenties and would therefore expect births for Henry and John around 1700.
Baptisms on Familysearch for Buckland only go back to 1691, but no sign of Henry and John baptised around the turn of the century, no marriages for them either.
As it is not a common surname, I have speculated they are brothers, Henry being the older and they have come from a village / town not too far away.
Can anyone find any likely candidates for the two in baptisms for nearby places or their marriages which I guess would be a year or so before birth of first child.
John and Mary's children were
Lucy, John, Edward, Mary, Ann, James, Elizabeth
and Henry and Elizabeth's children were
James, Henry, Elizabeth, Thomas, Anthony, Sarah, Mary.
In case any clues there about parent's names.
I have marriages in the 1750's for Mary (John's daughter the other one is too young), Ann, Sarah, John and Thomas so I know they survived to adulthood.
I have found 5 burials in Buckland, Henry (1780), Elizabeth (1781), John (1796), Mary (1770) and Ruth (1785). If the burials are the four parents, they will have live to quite great ages, so I suspect some might be the children with the same names or their spouses. (Thomas married a Mary)
