Hello

I am studying my paternal ancestors, the Fitzpatricks, whom resided at the Green, Fethard, Tipperary around 1901 and 1911.

Whilst I have been able to find several deaths, I cannot find any marriages for them, save for the fact that several children have left the home by 1911 and one of them, Katie, had died in 1901. I do not know if any of them moved to England or Wales, though their son Edward was in India during 1911

Any assistance in finding any marriages to the following people would be appreciated. This is the census entry 1901.

my thanks

Hi,
There is a marriage in Upperchurch for the 10th Feb 1877.
Bridget Ryan was the lady. (Do you know if Bridget's maiden name was Ryan?)
I searched by William and Bridget and this is the only record.
This is a Church record.

Hello

Thanks for looking

However this marriage does not correlate with the family.

William Fitzpatrick and Bridget McCarthy, the heads of the household did not marry until 1878 in Cork Cathedral.

All subsequent children were born between 1879 and 1904.

Hi,
I went back to the link for the Census records.
William was in the RIC.
if you type in garda siochana college
This is in Templemore, County Tipperary.
It was originally the Army barracks it's now the Garda (Police) college.
I have heard there is an Archive and Museum there.
Try them
I have looked for several of the children's births, I have found some. Like you I can't find the marriage.
I see William was born in Queens.......this is now County Laois.

I have William's service record from the Police Museum in Dublin, but that's about it in terms of his service. I have checked newspapers, but cannot find anything, despite a 32 year career there is little on him.

I am having the same problem with finding marriages at the moment, I would have expected at least one of them to have married in Cashel or Cork

Is Edward your ancestor?
You mention several deaths- do you mean family members or similarly named people?
Are you looking for all children except Katie and Edward?

Yes

Edward is my paternal great great uncle. He is on the 1901 census with his parents and siblings

When I mentioned the deaths, I mentioned family members

I am looking for the marriages of all the children on the census posted except Katie, whom died in 1901.

Frances Fitzpatrick, born in 1895, had an illegitimate child named Joseph Francis Fitzpatrick in Cashel Workhouse in 1927, father unknown. I don't think she married, so she can be excluded from the search as well. Then again, I cannot find a death record, nor any clue where she went after 1927, so it is possible she remarried, but I do not know.

It is possible that Gertrude Fitzpatrick never married as well because she is listed as the informant on her parents death certificates in 1930 and 1933, listed with her maiden name, meaning it is likely she was unmarried in 1933

Maybe a little more info here on one of your other message board posts.  Will pop the link here to avoid any reproduction of what you already have.
