Harry Webb 1876-1958 & Phoebe Webb 1882-1968 (of West Bromwich)
« on: Monday 02 March 15 20:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi all

First post so go easy on me  ;)

Trying to find out as much as I possibly can about Harry & Phoebe Webb.

Harry Webb : 1876-1958 (Police Constable)
Phoebe Webb : 1882-1968

Found both of them plus their children on the 1911 census living at 49 W'ton road, Heath Town.

Harold Webb : 1904 - ?
Winifred Freda Webb : 1910 - ?

I know both Harry & Phoebe were living on B'ham rd, West Bromwich up until 1932 when they moved to Heath Lane, West Bromwich.

Found a will/probate linking Harry to Heath lane at the time of his death in 1958, and another will/probate linking Phoebe to Bromford House, Bromford Lane at the time of her death in 1968.

I've been to the crematorium but they don't hold any burial records for either parent at Heath Lane cemetery. Also visited Old Church (All Saints Church) and still no luck.

I can't find any further information on either child or burial records for the parents.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

He appears to be with his grandfather in 1881

Possibility he is the entry for Henry Webb b Audley aged 15 and working as a servant but cannot be certain

Hi Carol

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I've been able to trace his side of the family as far back as 1801 but struggling with their own burial locations and possibly the death details for both children who would now be 105 and 111 this year!

Who did Winifred marry?  The only Winifred F Webb marriage I can see was in Croydon in 1930 and was to an Ernest T Webb

Ah! Thanks for that! I'm picking up the Birth Certificate tomorrow morning so will be able to confirm maiden name.

Hmmm...maybe buried at Holy Trinity Smethwick?

I have no idea. How likely is it she married someone with the same surname?

She has a record of birth as Winifred but appears as Winefred on the 1911 census. I assume its a spelling mistake.
