Ellerton Grange and the Hackett family
« on: Tuesday 03 March 15 10:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Is anyone familiar with the history of a minor manor house called Ellerton Grange in or near to Adbaston. I believe that before the Valentine Vickers family owned it, my ancestors the Hacketts were associated with it, but I can't find any information on this,
Many thanks,
Sarah

Thanks Jeff, I actually have the baptism mentioned in the article. I've been told about a Frank Hackett who did some research on this and that it was online, but when I googled it it said documents had been removed. Many thanks,
Sarah

In 1791 a Thomas Hackett was tenant of Ellerton Grange (farm and mansion) when various adverts were places in newspapers relating to its sale.
By 1822 it appears to have as its tenant a Robert Masefield and by 1832 a John Higgins
