Marriage John O'Keeffe to Annie Cullen

I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I am looking for a marriage for a John O'Keeffe to Annie Cullen in about 1910 in possibly Cork.

I do not have a lot of information about this couple and I am struggling to find answers.

From his death certificate in Scotland in 1958 John Joseph Francis O'Keeffe was born in 1886 and his parents were Edward O'Keeffe and Ellen Geary.

From her death certificate in Scotland in 1922 Annie Mary Josephine O'Keeffe was also born in 1886 and her parents were Patrick Cullen and Ann Delaney.

Can anyone help with any information on this family in Ireland.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I searched for Ann on www.irishgenealogy.ie as she stated she was born in Dublin

This is a link to CULLEN/DELANEY
including a marriage of a Patrick CULLEN to Anne DELANY in 1873
and a baptism of Ann CULLEN in 1885

there is a civil reference for the marriage of
John O'KEEFFE to Annie CULLEN in 1907 Dublin South Q3 V2 P706

Possibly John, his parents and siblings in 1901

Possibly his mother Ellen remarried in 1911

there is a civil reference for the marriage of
William SMITH to Ellen O'KEEFFE in 1903 Dublin South Q2 V2 P681

These records, if the correct families, gives you siblings names to work from

I have spent all day searching and could not find any of these records. They certainly look to be the families I am researching. On the certificates I have both John & his father Patrick were painters so that all fits.

John & Annie had a daughter Margaret born between 1911 & 1917. I have not been able to find a birth for her in Scotland so I will now try and find a birth for her in Dublin.

Thank you both so much for your help. I was about to give up on the Ireland research but now with all this new information I am eager to continue. It's a big help knowing just were to look.

Hi,

Margaret's full name was Margaret Christina O'Keefe (spelling sometimes changed to O'Keeffe over the years). She was born in 1911 in Dublin and moved to Glasgow circa 1916. She married Andrew Brand in 1932 in Glasgow. She died in 1989, aged 77, in Glasgow.

Thanks the marriage information has been very helpful and I have down loaded the certificate.

I did manage to find Margaret Christina's birth in Dublin South in Jul-Sep 1911.

Are you able to help me with the names of Margaret's brothers and sisters?

I have Edward James born in 1916 in Gorbals. I know that one is correct and there is a son Michael who was the informant on John O'Keeffe's death certificate but I do not know when he was born. I am sure there were other children.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Margaret four brothers who were born in Glasgow (don't know about those born in Dublin).

- Edward James (1916), Gorbals. Died 1996 (aged 80), Glasgow. Known as Ned.
- John J Francis (1917), Gorbals.
- Patrick Joseph (1919), Gorbals. Died 1963 (aged 44), Falkirk. Death certificate seems to have Ellen Kerton rather than Anne Cullen on it.
- Michael Joseph (1921), Gorbals - although some things here not clear.

Margaret's dad, John, re-married in 1923 (Ellen Kerton). They had at least two children. William and Nora.
