Old Age Pension Records

Are there searchable records of pensions paid to old age beneficiaries? Do the original applications for pensions show birth dates and places of of birth?

How can such records be accessed?

I'd be interested to find out too.

One particular person of interest I have researched appeared to have obtained their birth certificate in order to apply for the pension (or perhaps prove residency entitlement?), so I always thought proof was involved.

The only recording that I have ever seen for any government welfare payments though has been in relation to (rehabilitation) after war service and that was only a stamp or such on their service record.

Can't wait to see what wisdom the wise ones here bestow upon this!
