Haymer Hayward or Honour Hayward. Wrockwardine Wood
« on: Wednesday 04 March 15 11:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Please, I need some expert help as I am slowly going round the twist with this ....

I have Honour Hayward marrying Robert Ellis in Fulford, Staffs in 1824.   She is with Robert and their family on the 1841 census aged 40 at Wrockwardine Wood.   Honour died 6 Dec 1878.

There are lots of Haywards housed at Waxhill Barracks and Donnington Barracks too.

What I just can't figure out or decide on are, who her parents are ...    :-\

July 1798 in Parish register says Haymer Hayward - daughter to John and Mary.

I have never heard of Haymer as a first name before - so did the Vicar mean Honour or are her parents somebody else.

Would love to hear back from anyone with a glimmer of hope and knowledge.

Thanks

might I ask where you received your info please - on IGI that marriage is Heywood - not Hayward, so maybe you should be looking for the birth of Honour Heywood and not Honour Hayward ??

Hi Garstonite,

Thanks so much for replying.

Yes indeed it does say on the IGI - Honor Heywood married Robert Ellis in Fulford in 1824.  I am assuming ( heywood, hayward) and as neither of them could write they probably wouldn't know how to spell their names.. They signed by making their mark X in the parish register.

I can only find 1 Honor Heywood. married to a Robert Ellis.

Still pondering over Haymer Hayward born in Wellington, Shropshire in July 1798 - has anyone heard of this name before and could anyone shed any light on her life please.
