Hardy John T and Hardy William (2nd marriage) both married a Broadhurst in the  same month September 1918, how do I assign Kate and Ruth to correct Hardy?

England and Wales Marriage Index 1916-2005  show both John T and William married Ruth Broadhurst on the same day - not possible - well not legal, confused!!!!
