Hi,

I am looking for the marriage of Thomas Smith to Barbara Bendish 1583 in Leverington.
Is anybody able to look this up please? I would like an exact date and any witnesses if possible. Also any children born to them there after 1583?

Hi Sue,

Mr. Thomas SMITH married Mrs. Barbara BENDYSH at Leverington on 6 May 1583.  No other details.

Mother's names are not shown on the early baptisms and there appear to be three Thomas Smiths baptising children at Leverington - Thomas, Thomas medius and Thomas jun.  The first baptism with a Thomas Smith as father is of Ann SMITHE on 24 May 1601 daughter of Thomas.  Quite a long time after the marriage.  The next is in 1607, August 16 John SMITHE son of Thomas.

After that there are a couple of sons of Thomas SMITHE/SMITH medius in 1607/8 and 1609 and a daughter in 1609 to Thomas junior.
