In 1911 in Risby there is David with his mother and sister, and presumably a granddaughter Jessie age 6.

Added:
Unfortunately no John showing in any of the other censuses.

dug a bit deeper into his att. papers,  apparently he was in the Suffolk Reg in 1905 and this is the date the papers relate to and yes, they do state Nellie as wife and the 10 church walks address.
I presume that as his brother was  named on WW1 records Nellie must have died.
I suppose Nellie could have been short for something else and this is why it is proving difficult to find her.
Appreciate all your help
Thanks
Y

The brother was named David Bridge, still unmarried and living with mother on most recent census.

Looking back on all the earlier census David Bridge didn't have a brother named John, only one named Harry b.1876.   One can only assume that Harry changed his name to John for some reason.

'John' enlisted 25/3/1905 aged 29 but was 'discharged as not likely to become efficient' on 9/5/1905!   At that time he was already stated as married with said wife Nellie.

I cannot find him in 1901/or 1911 index as either Harry or John!

Thanks for confirming I was onto the correct family as regards birth dates, Annette.

So could Jessie be Harry/John and Nellie's daughter?
