Seeking info re Ricky1 (1954-2010) who researched Metheringham, Lincs

I am new to this forum, which I found via google searches for Charles Harby of Metheringham. His grandson Richard Harby (user Ricky1) did some posts back in 2005 I see, but sadly Ricky1 died in 2010. There were many posts of commiseration so he was a well noticed and appreciated forum member.
Charles Harby was my great uncle so I am trying to find info and ideally a photo - it is a real shame I am too late to interact with Ricky1, who was my 2nd cousin. Have tried various routes to contact Ricky's family but not had much luck. Sadly it looks like his widow Sylvia passed on in 2013.
Anyone have any knowledge of how I might find out more about what Ricky1 knew?
(I hope this is not an inappropriate enquiry - Ricky's profile suggests he was someone who always wanted to help).

Could you try asking the Lincolnshire FHS, in case he was a member and requested that his research notes ended up in their archives? Or perhaps someone there might have known him and have some idea what happened to his research?

Yes, I have already used the Rootsweb search function to check through his posts, Ray. Very few on the subject of Charles Harby however. So I am keen to find a way to investigate what Ricky had recorded about his Grandfather away from Rootschat.

Your suggestion of contacting the FHS is interesting Arthur, I'll try that.

Thanks harbylord. FYI in the 3 years since my original post I did get to meet some of the family around Meg and Sleaford, so have been given some info and a couple of pix already. But if you find any more from Ricky's records that would be of interest. Kind regards. Bill
