1828 Killaveny Baptisms
« on: Monday 09 March 15 11:07 GMT (UK) »
From his death cert Peter Doyle was born circa 1828 with a Father Thomas and was  from Carlow. The only bapt I can see free at one of the pay sites is at Killaveny which I see is a stones throw from the Carlow border. Is any one familliar enough with Killaveny  bapts to know if an  1828 bapt would include mothers name or Fathers only?

I've noted 5 or 6 Baptisms in Killaveny between 1812 and 1830 - all had both parents names.
Begg - Dublin, Limerick, Cardiff
Brady - Dublin
Breslin - Wexford, Dublin
Byrne - Wicklow
O'Hara - Wexford, Kingstown
McLoghlin - Roscommon
Lawlor - Meath, Dublin
Lynam - Meath and Renovo, Pennsylvania
Everard - Meath
Fagan - Dublin
Meyler/Myler - Wicklow
Gray - Derry, Waterford
Kavanagh - Limerick

Thanks eadaoin. Well that probably blows away my working theory that my Thomas's wife was Ellen. Seeemed uncanny that Killaveny was so close to Tullow, one of the few places that is showing up with a Thomas and Ellen baptising  children. Roll on winter. Lets hope it is warm and sunny in Ireland so the government cant say "well we never had a summer this year, so, perhaps next year"

In the meantime you might like to check what they have.
These records will only be searchable by parish and some of the images are very poor quality.
