Tullow and St Mullins 1830's Baptisms
« on: Monday 09 March 15 11:26 GMT (UK) »
Other than handing over some Euros to RI can any one tell me details of baptisms by Thomas Doyle and wife Ellen in
Tullow: Mary 1832, Francis 1834, David 1836 and
St Mullins: John 1833, Simon 1836, James 1838, Michael 1840
This relates to my post in Wicklow.

If they are RC, than parish records should be online in the summer free.

Thanks Sinann. My 4th cousin had whispered it might be hapening. I thought of my government and went "NAH no way". Roll on winter  :) Never looked forward to it before

Whenever the Church Records are released online, there will be a huge demand.
I cannot understand why they won't release what is already done. Why wait.
Large numbers of users cause systems to slow down and crash, which frustrates everyone.

Hi, I have all the St Mullins baptisms transcribed and looked for your Thomas Doyle and wife Ellen. As you didn't give Ellen's maiden name, these may be the family you seek. I checked from 1825-1863 and came up with the following;

Baptisms:

2 April 1831 Catherine  p.Thomas Doyle-Eleanora Connors

22 Dec 1833 John  p.Thomas Doyle-Ellin Connor

8 April 1836 Simon  p. Thomas & Ellen Doyle

18 August 1838  James  p.Thomas Doyle-Ellen Connell (this appears to be priest error)

11 Nov 1840 Michael  p.Thomas Doyle-Elen Connor

9 June 1843 Thomas  p.Thomas Doyle- Ellin Connors

3 Sept 1846 Mary  p.Tom Doyle- Ellen Connor

11 June 1848 Laurence  p.Tom Doyle- Ellen Connory
*note with this entry: married to Anne Rourke at Drummond by me on 30 Nov 1891

23 May 1851  Owen  p.Thomas Doyle- Ellen  Connor

This is the only Thomas Doyle I found in the St Mullins parish registers married to an Eleanor/Ellen. There are other Thomas Doyles (actually 8) married to different women during this time period. There are many Doyles in St Mullins during this time period. I also found a Simon Doyle who was married to Bridget Kelly with children in St Mullins during this time. As Simon is a very infrequently used name, more than likely he is a brother or cousin to your Thomas. Hope this helps,Kim

Thanks Kim. Yes some good folk at St Mullins have put up a good lot of tombstone inscriptions and the Doyles were certainly thick on  (and under) the ground.
