1. Suggestions for Edward Turnbull's marriage.
Isabella Ramsay is apparently ruled out by JenB who shows that this ET married Ann Galloway. The ET I'm interested in had his mother, Isabella, living with him in 1891, which is why I've always thought he married Isabella Cowell, as JenB says. BTW, I think he had previously married her sister, Dorothy Cowell, in 1840 and she died later that year.
2. Edward Turnbull's DOB.
I was given 1851 by a family member and thought it was borne out by the census returns. But since the estimated DOB on the census can be a year out, it could well be 1850. I'm waiting for the certificate to arrive from the GRO. re dates, on the different censuses I have between 1851 and 1901, the age of his wife doesn't always correspond from one census to the next, which is worrying!
3. I've made a note of the obit - looks as if it's 1814, not 1819.
