Hello,  A family member has told me that our family used to run a Rock making factory in Eastbourne around 1950 ish.  The family name was Linsdell, Lindsell etc.....

Not sure where to start looking any help would be greatly appreciated.  Unfortunately i do not live anywhere near Eastbourne so cannot visit myself.

Here's hoping someone can help.

Who were your ancestors (don't name anyone who is still living)?
Have you found any births/marriages/deaths/wills/probate etc with an occupation given, which shows that's what they did?
Googling doesn't seem to bring anything up.
Might be worth contacting the Eastbourne Local History group (which did come up)
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

census information is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

There used to be a rock making factory on Terminus Road almost opposite the Pier.
As children we all used to watch them making the rock with all the different words inside, very clever.
I don't recall it being called anything other than the Rock Shop. They made other sweets as well like big lollipops.

Hi Again,
Forgot to say that the Rock Shop was still there in early seventies. It was few doors up towards the seafront from Notriani's Ice cream parlour/coffee shop where we teenagers in the 60's hung out.
