Do you know where these places are? Arlesford Wilts may be Alresford Hampshire, 5 to 10 miles ENE of Winchester on the A31 I think, can't find one in Wilts. Wilton sounds like the home of Wilton carpets east of Salisbury on the A30.

Edwin West's marriage Alderbury  is in Wiltshire, sorry if I spelt it incorrectly in previous messages, it seems to contain some of the places they were on the census,

Arlesford is in Hampshire, that is where Edwin death was you are right

that's correct - apologies though - I should have been directing you to 1901 census
1901 Edwin Annie Daisy and Sam have a boarder THOMAS DOBSON - widower  74 occ Shepherd b Marlborough
Next door is Samuel West (Edwin's father?)

It seems very possiblte Thomas is Annie's father
Sometimes Thomas gives p.o.b. as Marlborough other times Preshute -as does Annie
1891 Annie is Annie M which most probably is for Maria
Thomas Dobson has wife Mary A in 1891 1881 census
1871 1861 wife is martha

1861 among other children Thomas and Martha Dobson have a daughter Anne Maria b preshute who "fits the bill"
I know you have previously had this information but it does seem to fit

Martha died c. 1877 and 1879 Thomas married Mary A

think marriage cert is a must to confirm

I have taken on board all of this info and have spent almost 2 days putting this together, gone back to 1780 ish on the Dobson and West  side of the family, I am sure Annie is the Ann Maria born to Thomas and Martha

Although I have considered this now closed the update is I have received the marriage cert today

01/03/1879
Baptist Chapel Salisbury in district of Alderbury Wilts
Edwin West aged 26
to
Annie Dobson aged 27
Witnesses William and Sarah Dobson

so I am accepting that Annie is the daughter of Thomas Dobson and Martha Bird
