Emily Balls/Walter Piper. Lowestoft/Beccles, Suffolk 1855
« on: Thursday 12 March 15 18:44 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find the parents of Emily Balls who I believe was born in Suffolk, possibly Lowestoft in England. I think her date of birth was around 1855-1859? I believe she married Walter Piper who was also born around 1855 in possibly Beccles, Suffolk. I would really like to find out the parents of this couple as I'm struggling to do it on my own :/

Couple of Suffolk possibilities in the 1861 census.
One born in 1857 with parents Robert J M and Mary Ann
One born in 1856 in Lowestoft with widowed father James.
Suggest you take a closer look at those and follow the families through the other censuses until the time of marriage to see if one might fit the other facts you have about her.

Hi :)
Yes I think it's the one who has James as a father, but it says widowed? How would I go about finding out who his wife was?

Look for a female Balls death in Suffolk between the birth of the last child and the 1861 census. Try freebmd.org.uk as a starting point for your search.

Also look for a marriage for James in the right timeframe on freebmd, and look for James on the 1851 census.

Possibility for James in the 1851 census aged 14 as nephew to Nevell Townsend in Mutford. Since he is in Mutford in both censuses try looking for a marriage and wife´s death in the same place.
