Hi
What is known - James' sister Ann KING, an elder sister (unmarried) born in 1798, Warborough, Oxford, Engl. came to NZ ca. 1851. She died in 1881 and buried beside her brother, James KING.

It is written that James was born in Dalston, son of John King and Hannah James. I have no proof of this or about his marriage to Elizabeth Ledger in 1834, London, Eng. They left England 5th February 1849 on the Mariner with their four daughters Ann Elizabeth - born 1836, Emma Charlotte (my great Grandma) - born in 1839, Clerkenwell; Hannah born 1842, Susan born 1847.
 
How would I go about knowing more about this family - their time in England before they came to NZ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you a member on Ancestry. There is a marriage there that actually gives their wedding record (not allowed to display it here due to copy-write issues).
