William Alison/Betsy Wood St Cyrus, Kincardinshire 1800
« on: Saturday 14 March 15 18:56 GMT (UK) »
Looking for information on William Alison and Elizabeth 'Betsy' wood, both born around 1800. Elizabeth was born in St Curus I believe, but I'm not too sure about William, possibly Cupar? They had a daughter together names Helen Alison and she was born about 1839 in St Cyrus

Thank you for this :)
I'm trying to find out who the parents of William or Betsy could've been, but whenever I put a search in for them on freecen.org.uk, nothing comes back for them? How do you find the things that you do?

FreeCen has the 1841 and 1851 Census transcriptions for Kincardineshire.
1841 Village of St Cyrus , Kincardineshire
William Allison 40 salmon fisher born outside Census County
Elizabeth Allison 40 b. Kincardineshire
Charles Allison 15 salmon fisher
Robert Allison 15 salmon fisher
Jane Allison 14
Mary Allison 11
James Allison 8
Helen Allison 1
(Ages above 15 rounded down , all children born Kincardineshire).

When searching remember to change the year box to 1841 or 1851 , the default is 1891.

Have you download the 2 1865 death certificates from Scotlandspeople ?
They should have the parents names if known to the informant.
