seeking parents of Henry Paul, died at Cossington in 1803 aged 72.

Henry Paul seems to have been born in c1739, probably in Somerset.  The Morning Post printed an obituary in 1803 showing his age as 72.  I would like to be able to trace his parents, but have not yet found a baptism.
In 1759 he married Ann(e) Peirce.  In 1789 he acquired Cossington Manor which passed to George Templer on his death.

All clues welcome!

Hi Ainslie,

There are two Henry PAUL birth & baptisms on FreeReg that could be of Interest.
Birth 12th Feb 1732 & Baptised 23rd Feb 1732  at St James, Taunton, Parents Henry & Israel PAUL.

Henry PAUL Baptised at St Augustine, West Monkton, Somerset, on the 4th Aug 1731 to parents Stephen & Joane PAUL. 

If he was 72 in 1803 then those two dates are very close in fact 1731 is spot on the correct year.  West Monkton is only 3 miles from Taunton.
With the other only being 5 months later both could be him.

Thank you for the two references.  West Monkton has cropped up before in  connection with this family, so I am inclined towards that one.
I must remember to look at FreeReg next time!
