Looking for parents of John Asser.  Born in Middx in 1750. Son known to be David Asser.  Be very most grateful for any help in establishing earlier history..

Hi ressayor

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

The first Asser baptism turning up in Bethnal Green is in 1808 so my suggestions at this time would be that the family were not of an Anglican persuassion or that they moved into the area at some point in time.

You mention that he had a son David, what else do you know about him (wife's name, date and place of marriage & death) to see if we can track him down elsewhere?

Hi Dawn
His wife was almost certainly Elizabeth but I have yet to establish her BMD dates.  The suspicion is that John Asser's parents were immigrants from Europe and possibly of Jewish origin.  Be very grateful if this theory could supported.  If so how would one go further.
