Where is Sarah's birth

Hi Guys, i'm searching for the birth of Sarah J Millington, born to Richard Millington and Charlotte Brown around 1859 in Staffordshire.

I have details of her marriage, death etc in Oldham some many years later but can not find the details of the birth to order a certificate.

Please can anyone help? Thanks, Luke

Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1874/75 so prior to then - numerous births went unregistered

Hi Gnorman,

A quick look on FreeBMD yields the following two birth possibles in Staffordshire:

Millington, Sarah Jane; March Qtr 1856; Wolverhampton; Volume 6b Page 484

Millington, Sarah Jane; December Qtr 1858; Dudley: Volume 6c Page 83

I think it s this one, on the 1871 census she was born Sedgley, this comes under the Reg Dist for Dudley

There is an anc tree on Sarah which also gives the same birth record that MargP and DavidJP have given above. Might be worth a look if you haven't seen it.
