Stirland Heath
« on: Thursday 19 March 15 08:04 GMT (UK) »
Stirland Heath was baptised in 1762 in Kirkby in Ashfield. No father's name is given but his mother is Ann Heath.
Because no father's name is given, am I right to assume he was illegitimate?

Yes.  ;D

That is a very unusual forename. Unless you already know where it came from (eg mother or grandmother's maiden name), it could be a clue as to the identity of the father.  ;D

I wonder what happened to Ann? Is there a baptism in Greasley?
