Broxburn War Memorial
« on: Friday 20 March 15 07:28 GMT (UK) »
I recently visited Broxburn and was very surprised to find that the only war memorial was erected in 2010 . Was there a reason why a place of that size had no war memorial erected following WW1?
The only record I can find on line for a war memorial in the area is for Abercorn Church.

Hi Baird,
This is best I could find re why Broxburn didn't have memorial until 2010 -
Until now there were memorials at all the churches, but not one in the community itself and the public chose the Strathbrock Partnership Centre as the best site.

Photos of the memorial, a newspaper report about the unveiling and some of the men's details.
