I think we have the correct Sarah, which raises the question of her death, which we now know is after 1868. Indeed, if the 1881 census reference is correct - which I think it is given the birthplace of Kensington - her death must be after 1881.

I can't see an appropriate one in Waltham Abbey, but she could well have moved on, possibly to live with one of her children.

Any suggestions.

I did not find Sarah on the 1881 census 1851/1861/1871...she is at Waltham Holy Cross don't see any family in any of the census forms
Burial record for George Lawrance 12/4/1869 Waltham Abbey Essex age 47 which ties in with the probate record ...Quite possible that Sarah married again being only 44

I think Sarah is still at Waltham Abbey in 1881, living at Farm Hill (RG11 1396 122 2). Her DOB is given as 1831. Her birthplace is correct as Kensignton. And she is living on dividends, which makes some sense.

Whoops - there's a second Sarah the same age in Waltham married to a John Lawrence up to 1891!

So if we assume that the Sarah living at Manor Road, Waltham Abbey is the correct one, which is not definitive given her changing age, it presumably gives a death in the range 1901-1925.

I have looked on Free BMD and other sites and cannot see a good match. It is difficult as we have no reliable age to use to make sensible judgements. It would clearly be useless to use her correct year of birth of 1825, as in her later years she seems to have chosen to misrepresent her real age, though having said that the age of 69 in 1901 is only a couple of years out.

It is also worth noting that her sister Sophia was also living in Waltham Abbey in 1891. Once again we have no reliable information about her death.

I have searched - so far in vain - for Sophia on the 1901 census and both sisters on the 1911 census. If they are not on these censuses then at least we have narrowed down the range for their deaths.
