Baptism l/up for Ester Norris abt 1770 Berks

Hi all,

I have an Ester Norris who married Richard Woodley in Harwell in 1792.

I am having a problem in  finding her bapt. The only one I have come across is for a
Hesther Edmonds or Norris 16-12-1770 in Coleshill, Berks on the IGI.

Its a possible as the yob. fits with her burial in Harwell in 1819 (aged 49) but Coleshill is a parish some distance away.

Nothing comes up in the Harwell transcripts or FindMyPast or FreeReg.

Is anyone able to help please?

There are quite a few born in Lancashire this is the only one in the area you say.

Hi Maggsie,

Thank you for finding that entry. Unfortunately, it would appear that Esther Norris d/o John
is buried Feb 1771 in Aylesbury so I think it rules her out.

The only other one I have found is an  Esther Norris in Wilts 1774 but I feel that is too far away to be considered.

As you know the 1792 Marriage is on FreeREG
Others +/- 10yrs are;
Edward NORRIS/Martha BARNES 1782 Denchworth
George NORRIS/Lydia FARMER 1792 Boxford
William LAMBOURNE/Rachel NORRIS 1800 Harwell

1851 Census Rachael Lambourn is born c 1776 Blewbury, Berkshire
Possible for George Norris in Kent in 1851 born c 1777 Newbury, Berkshire

I actually found their marriage on the IGI first and then confirmed it in the Harwell transcripts.

There are not many "Norris's" listed in Harwell so I would suggest they came from afar, but where?

Rachel's baptism was in 1781 (recorded as Rechel d/o Thomas & Sarah) which gave me hope but alas,  Hester/Esther is not recorded. So she was either not baptised or came from another parish
