It's very difficult to help if you don't look at the information you already have and tell us about it - links to census records, etc. mean that we don't have to waste our time searching for what you've already found.

Here is the 1911 census record for James Carey, wife Anne and family- it clearly says James Carey was born in Dublin (city) and was aged 58 years (although ages can be quite unrelaible). James & Anne married 24 years (so c1887)- their marriage certificate will show his residence at the time and should list his father's name and occupation as well as 2 witnesses who might be relatives.

Always best to also check the original record as often there are transcription mistakes- note that 'pipe lam' is actually pipe layer.

Same family in 1901 census-

James (1894) http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/5cf0b10015702

Possible sibling of James? Catherine Carey's address Harold's Cross & an Anne Cullen is witness. Her parents given as James Carey & Kate Murray:

There's more but have to go out now. Remember that the above family may not be the one you are looking for but my gut feeling is that they could very well be.

Your original post mentioned John Carey married Lizzie- you still haven't said how you found the 2 brothers of James Carey- but this might be the same family:

The birth certificates for any of those children will list mother's maiden name and then you could look for the marriage certificates, etc. How did 'a lady' know these 3 Careys were brothers?

Thomas Carey & wife Mary Ann- married 35 years so c1876:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Wood_Quay__part_of_/Arnott_Street/75713
same family in 1901 which lists more children-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Fitzwilliam/Lower_Camden_Street_W__Side/1307011

added- Thomas Carey is a tailor which perhaps puts him in a different class than James Carey pipe layer/labourer.

John Carey & wife Lizzie- John is a baker which is a bit of a difference from James as a pipe layer/labourer-
