Gordon J Waddington-Allwright Wiltshire House, Hungerford, Berkshire.
« on: Monday 23 March 15 21:56 GMT (UK) »
I am interested in Gordon J Waddington-Allwright who gave his wartime address as Wiltshire House, Hungerford, Berkshire.

Waddington-Allwright was stationed at the Central Gunnery School and was an airgunner in Wellington N2894 that was shot down by a Messerschmitt 110 night fighter at 02:25 near Hessen-Allee, 8km. south-east of Apeldorn on the return flight of the first 1000 bomber raid against  Cologne 30/31 May 1942.

Waddington-Allwright and my father Walter Layne were POWs together at Stalag Luft VI and Stalag 357.

I am attempting to find a photograph of all of the prisoners named in my father’s POW “Wartime Log” and am hopeful that through this site someone can provide one of Gordon Waddington-Allwright.  My efforts so far can be seen here, https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/other-pows/

Here is Gordon Waddington-Allwright's entry in my father's POW "Wartime Log."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked for a marriage for him and then checked to see if any children were born to the marriage?

You will need to get the name right - ALLRIGHT

Prisoners of war returned:
Warrant Officer Gordon John Waddington Allright, youngest son of Mr and Mrs S W Allright, of Wiltshire House, who has been a prisoner-of-war for three years, returned home on VE Day. He belongs to the RAFVR and is 26 years of age.
